Best in Class with Xfinity

”How can we create a reality competition show for social that’s about social?”

That’s the question Xfinity and Carmichael Lynch posed when they approached Rock Studios about the project that eventually became Best in Class.

Working closely with our Sr. Creative Director, my co-writer and I designed a game architecture that translated what viewers love about reality competition shows on linear and streaming into something that worked on social. I came up with the idea to mix-and-match contestants in roommate “pairs,” rather than having them tackle each challenge individually, which upped the drama, elevated the intrigue, and made the storylines much easier to track. I also co-wrote all of our host’s scripted remarks.

We still have 5 episodes that are yet to be released, but after Episode 1 racked up 2.2 million views across Instagram and TikTok, I figured I might as well share what’s public here.

Enjoy our trailer, Episode 1, and Episode 2.
